The theme of Copper Sun is even in the toughest times, you can find some good things. In the story, she was constantly pushed down and tortured, feeling like nothing. There were many times she'd rather been dead but she stayed strong and persevered. As a reader, we feel extremely sorry for the things that Amari has to go through while being captured. However, after reading the book, we realize all of the torture only made her stronger. She became strong enough to believe that giving up wasn't going to solve anything so she continued to have faith that one day she would be free.
